Thomas E. Ackerman, 70, of Spring City, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Sandra L. (Grealey) Ackerman, who died in 2020.
Born June 10, 1952 in Phoenixville, he was a son of Jean (Ryder) Ackerman and the late John D. Ackerman.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army as a MP and dog handler. Following his service, he owned and operated Thomas E. Ackerman Plumbing for many years. He was a member of East Vincent United Church of Christ and Spring Ford Lodge #553 F.&A.M.
Outside of work, Tom greatly enjoyed taking trips to the mountains, hunting with his son, and boating on the river.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ackerman; his son, Michael Ackerman; 7 grandchildren, Maegan, Emily, Chelsea, Tanner, Johnny, Brenna, Joey; and 5 great grandchildren: and his brothers, John “Jack” Ackerman and Tim Ackerman.
He was preceded in death by his third brother, Walt Vanden Eden.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 Main Street, Phoenixville on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 am. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:45 am. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 am.
Burial will follow in East Vincent United Church of Christ Cemetery, Spring City.
