Sophia C. (Schiavone) McCrone, 93, wife of the late Ralph D. McCrone, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Monday, April 25, 2016 in Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Byers, PA, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Sarafina (Palmerina) Schiavone.
She was a Cafeteria worker at Phoenixville School District and Second Avenue School.
Sophie was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Phoenixville. She was a member of St. Ann Senior Adult Club, Phoenixville Chapter 71 AARP and Phoenixville Senior Center.
She was a Nurse's Aide at Phoenixville Hospital during World War II, a volunteer at the Book Worm, loved to play pinochle and belonged to a pinochle club, bowling, organic gardening, canning and freezing. Her love of flowers was evident in making sure her home had plenty of them. Most of all Sophie enjoyed working for her church, with the Women's Guild, church cleaner for over 30 years, hospitality for funeral luncheons, working with Altar flowers and working bingo.
She loved her family very much and enjoyed going to all their activities.

She was preceded in death by son, Patrick J. McCrone, brothers and sisters, Sam Schiavone, Rebecca Bortner, Chester Schiavone, Mary Carmella Szabo and Elizabeth Zeleski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Ann Catholic Church, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville PA, on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA.
A viewing will be held in the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.
