Sheila Ann McIntyre, daughter of the late Lt Col Walter and Joan McIntyre, born May 22, 1962 has passed into eternal rest on September 21, 2022.
She is survived by her loving husband, Martin Prescod; her only beloved son Nathan Philip Yurick; stepsons John Herbert Prescod and Paul Llewelyn Prescod; and a very large family including six sisters: Christine McIntyre, Diane McIntyre, Maura McIntyre, Ellen Kochu, Brigid Hollis and Kathleen McIntyre; her only brother retired Colonel Andrew McIntyre. She has many in-laws including sisters-in-law: Jill Thomas McIntyre and Enid “Dolly” Prescod. Her brothers-in-law: George “Jack” Kochu, Brian Hollis, Ronald Prescod and Mark Prescod. Sheila also has a “wife-in-law”: Betty Meister Prescod (her husband’s former wife who is a good friend and mother to Sheila’s stepsons).
Sheila has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and a great nephew: Gabriela Trigo-McIntyre, Benjamin McIntyre-Coble, Jessica Kochu, George Andrew Kochu, Danielle Lenhart, Jeffrey McIntyre, Jordan McIntyre, Liam McIntyre, Aubrey Bedell, Addison Bedell, Charlotte McIntyre-Coble and Eamonn McIntyre-Coble. She was predeceased by her loving nephew Paul Raymond Kochu. The love Sheila had for her nieces and nephews is equal to that of her love to her son and she always considered them her “children”.
Sheila was a gifted musician and music educator, having performed as a flute soloist in the Greater Delaware Valley for many years and as a music educator/choral director for the Norristown Area School District and Owen J. Roberts School District for a period of twenty-five years. She fell ill in 2014, never fully recovered and retired officially in 2020.
She loved all things music, humorous, compassionate, and of true substance. She had a penchant for snappy shoes with daringly high heels, Chanel lipstick, great hair, and a delicious flute of champagne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 355 St. John’s Circle, Phoenixville, on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00-11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Church Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory should be sent to: The Gift of Music Foundation 2030 Powers Ferry Rd, Atlanta GA 30339 or www.giftofmusic.org.
