Rose E. Etzel

Rose E. (Sabadosh) Etzel, 94, wife of the late Anthony J. Etzel of Phoenixville passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Born on February 22, 1930 in Phoenixville, PA she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Nemeth) Sabadosh. Rose was a graduate of Phoenixville High School where she played violin in the school orchestra and clarinet in the high school band. She was also an accomplished pianist and organist and was a member of the Theatre Organ Society of Delaware Valley. She also was a seamstress and liked to knit and crochet.

Rose worked in customer service for many years at the former Farmers and Mechanics National Bank which later became Southeast National Bank and Fidelity Bank. After her retirement from the bank, she worked for Dr. Drohosky Family Podiatry in Phoenixville until she was 90 years old. She was also a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. 

She is survived by two children: Roseann wife of Bruno Tongiani and Anthony Jr husband of Linda Etzel; four grandchildren: Paul husband of Cari Tongiani, Matt husband of Allison Tongiani, Liz Etzel and Sunshine Etzel; two great granddaughters: Leona Tongiani and Vera Tongiani; two sisters: Irene Stec and Lillian Kern, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by son, William Etzel; grandson, Joseph Tongiani; and sister, Alice Ward.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Ann Catholic Chapel, 604 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.

A viewing will be held in the chapel on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
