Robert T. Melvin, Sr., 78, husband of Mary Ann (Perbetsky) Melvin of West Chester, PA, died peacefully at home on Friday, April 14, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Born on December 21, 1938 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Cavanaugh) Melvin.
He was a graduate of Girard College, Class of 1956 where he served as class President. He organized the 50th Class Reunion gift for Girard College; a refurbished 1850's Steinway. He also was a graduate of Saint Joseph's University Class of 1970.
He retired from PECO Energy after 38 years of employment as Superintendent of Transportation.
He was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Wayne, PA and was a Catechism teacher there for many years.
An avid golfer, he was a member of McCall Golf and Country Club in Upper Darby, PA.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his,
daughter, Patricia Payne and husband Joseph of East Fallowfield, PA;
son, Robert Melvin, Jr. and wife Jenifer of Drexel Hill, PA;
daughter, Jeanette Muldoon and husband Patrick of Hazlet, NJ;
Son, Kevin Melvin of Glendale, AZ;
Karen Thomas and husband Curtis of Malvern, PA;
14 grandchildren,
Michael, Jacqueline, Brian, Jimmy, Sean, Jonathan, Desiree, Alexis, Annaliese, Isabella, Grace, Armond, Isaiah and Hope;
a��4 great grandchildren;
Jaelynn, Julian, Leah and Evan;
a��1 brother;
Donald Melvin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 50 West Walker Road, Wayne, PA, on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
A viewing will be held in the church Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
