Richard James Yochem, Jr., 57, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022.
Born on September 2, 1964 in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of Richard J. Yochem, Sr. and Carol A. (Kuren) Yochem.
He graduated Phoenixville High School in 1982 and University of Central Florida in 1986.
He was a Certified Public Accountant for Matson Driscoll and Damico in Orlando as well as independent work.
He was an accomplished catcher and played baseball at Valencia Community College, University of Central Florida, and was drafted to the New York Mets. He enjoyed playing drums, golf, exercise, and was a Penn State fan.
In addition to his parents he is survived by 2 children:
Rebecca Marie Yochem and Lance Austin Yochem and their mother, Sandra Jean Yochem.
Brother, James M. Yochem and sister, Karen Ann Leach.
Nieces and nephews, Carlyne Grace Yochem, Rhys Richard Yochem, Matthew Joseph Leach, Jessica Sara Leach, and Lauren Kathryn Leach.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 am.
A visitation will be held in Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, February 24 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and in church on Friday from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family is starting a scholarship in his name at the University of Central Florida, his alma mater. This scholarship will honor his experiences at UCF, his memory, and his service to society.
