Richard-John O. "RJ" Masters, 34 of Valley Forge,PA passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, January 12, 2017.

Born on July 8, 1982 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of Sue Ellen (Plunkett) Raser of Valley Forge and John H. Masters of Kennett Square.

RJ graduated from Phoenixville High School in 2001 and received an Associates Degree from West Chester University.

He worked as a case manager for Executive Health Services in Newtown Square.

RJ was an avid ice hockey player and had a passion for the game. His love of the sport began at the age of 6. An all-star player, he was captain of the first Phoenixville Area High School's ice hockey team and also an invited member of West Chester East High School's Ice Hockey team. He was a member of several club teams, including all-star and select. Ice hockey was an intricate part of his life and he continued to play as an adult. He was a dedicated Philadelphia Flyers fan and as a season ticket holder, enjoyed attending games with his father, mother, and his brother Brett. He also enjoyed working out at the gym and lifting weights.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by:
brother, Britain "Brett" Masters
step-mother, Jane Masters
step-father Oliver Raser
step-brothers, Ryan Nuechterlein and Matthew Nuechterlein
and his beloved dog Bodie

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack & Ellen Plunkettt and Harlie & Marie Masters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service from the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dennis Coleman officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in RJ's name may be sent to the Caron Foundation, Scholarship Fund, PO Box 150, Wernersville, PA 19565.
