Raymond Stanley Brown Sr., 87, husband of the late Mary Ann (Forster) Brown, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Park Lane Post Acute in West Chester, PA.
He was born in West Chester on October 1, 1937 to the late William F. and Mildred (Good) Brown.
He was employed by Penco Products which was located in Oaks, PA for 43 years as a forklift operator. Raymond enjoyed gardening, woodworking and going for walks around the Phoenixville area, especially when there were events at Reeves Park. He was an avid bird watcher who loved his hummingbirds that came back every spring. He also had a particularly conflicted relationship with squirrels. He loved nature in all of its forms, and while out in it he amassed quite a collection of items he found during his excursions - for a man who never hit a golf ball, he had over 10,000 of them in his attic. He was a man who enjoyed the spring and summer seasons the most.
He enjoyed music and dancing, and was never shy to share and demonstrate his patented "brownie shuffle" dance. His favorite music/dancing event was the annual Phoenixville Blues Festival. He loved country, classic rock, and bluegrass music. He loved spending quality time with family. Raymond was a very open-hearted man who accepted many people into his home and was loved by everyone on Carson street. When asked, Raymond attributed his long life to 'a shot and a beer' each day at 3pm. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things life had to offer.
He is survived by son Raymond S. Brown Jr husband of Jean., daughters Theresa Miller, wife of Timothy, and Linda Somers, wife of Bryan. Grandchildren include Alex, husband of Brandi, Andreas, husband of Becca, Ryan, Eric, husband of Kayla, Matthew, Tyler, and Nicholas, husband of Joshua.
