Paul R. Rossi

Paul Rossi, 72, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on December 1, 2023 in Phoenixville Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. Born on May 7, 1951, in Altoona, PA. Paul grew up in Bellwood, PA. “Back home,” which is how he referred to his hometown of Bellwood, he was known by the nickname Rick.

Paul attended Bellwood-Antis High School and played football at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania before graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Penn State University.

Throughout his career, Paul held various managerial positions. From 1977 to 1996, he served as the Manager of Fleet Operations for Conrail in Philadelphia. Later, from 2000 to 2019, Paul worked as the Manager of Support Services at Saint Gabriel’s Hall. His work at “The Gabes” was more than a job to him, the people there were like family, and their mission to help the young men in its care was his most rewarding work in life.

Paul was a funny, generous, and loving family man. He had a huge heart and always knew how to make his family, especially his granddaughters, laugh with his jokes and pranks. He loved to tell stories of his younger days romping around Tipton and Bellwood with his uncles, cousins, and friends. When he and Becky settled in Phoenixville, and had their daughter Allison, he was always lending a hand in the neighborhood, coaching his daughter’s softball teams, or proudly working in his vegetable garden. He loved spending vacations with his family and friends in the Outer Banks collecting seashells and watching the sunrise. As he got older, “Pappy Paul”, as his granddaughters called him, took pleasure in pranking telemarketers, watching his favorite soccer team Barcelona, and spending time at home with his wife, whom he loved and adored, and his family.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Becky (Reese) Rossi, his daughter, Allison Peffle, and her husband, Robert Peffle. He was also a loving grandfather to his granddaughters Beatrice, Abigail, and Elizabeth. Paul is also survived by his sister, Jean Snare, and her husband, Wayne Snare, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria (Scott) Rossi, and his father, Alex Rossi.

Paul was a member of St. Ann Parish in Phoenixville.

Paul will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann Chapel, 604 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA  on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert Reese officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Chapel on Wednesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or Phoenixville Area Community Service (PACS).
