Patricia Louise Smith

Patricia Louise (Duffey)Smith RN, MSN, age 79, longtime resident of Phoenixville, PA  passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 in the Phoenixville Hospital.  She was the wife of Dennis W. Smith.
Born on October 15, 1940 in Norristown, PA she was a daughter of the late James and Jane (Dimond) Duffey
Louise graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School, Villanova University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She was a longtime Nursing INstructor at Sacred Heart Hospital School of Practical Nursing in Norristown, PA and at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, NC.
In 2002, she was selected as one of the Great 100 Registered Nurses in North Carolina.  She was named Educator of the Year in 2001 by the North Carolina Associate Degree Nursing Council.
She was active as a volunteer at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greensboro, NC and at St. Ann Catholic Church in Phoenixville, PA.  She also volunteered for many years at Urban Ministries in Greensboro, NC.
She is survived by two children:  Charles W. Smith and wife Kimberly Smith; Karen Smith-Silone and husband James Silone.; grandchildren:  Carson Smith, Evan Smith, and Gabriella Silone.
Louise was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Marie I. Smith; in-laws William and Marie (Schlitzer) Smith; and brother-in-law Rev. Gerald  S. Smith.
A private Funeral Service  will be held for the immediate family.  Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA
