Michael Korobij, 98, husband of the late Justyna (Cekot) Korobij of Phoenixville, PA died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Seasons Hospice.
Born on June 5, 1920 in Zboriv, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Franko and Anna (Yarusz) Korobij.
He came to the United States with his wife in 1949.
He worked as a Laborer for Phoenix Steel and a Custodian for the Phoenixville Public Library for many years. He enjoyed building projects, woodworking, planting flowers, and gardening.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and also sang in the church choir.
Surviving are 2 sons:
Roman husband of Patricia Korobij of Phoenixville
Myron Korobij of Phoenixville
3 Grandchildren, Myron Korobij, Jr., Alicia Korobij-Campbell, and Michael Korobij.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Divine Liturgy in Sts. Peter and Paul Ukranian Catholic Church, Fairview and St. Mary Sts., Phoenixville, PA on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Ihor Royik officiating.
Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Friday afternoon at the church from 1:45 to 2:45 pm.
