Louis D Brignola Sr., 79, of Phoenixville, husband of Marlene (Boltz) Brignola passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones on July 30, 2023. Born in Phoenixville on December 19, 1943 he was the oldest son of Dominic J and Phyllis (Melchiorre) Brignola.
Lou worked for over forty years in Architectural Engineering & Construction with primary focus on the Steel Making Industry. The majority of his career was with United Engineers & Constructors (later Raytheon E&C), leading major projects here in the US and around the globe. Lou finished his career as a Partner of MPI Consultants. Lou was well-respected and excelled in this industry despite not having a college degree.
Lou was a member of Saint Basil the Great Parish and The Knights of Columbus.
He was a lifelong Eagles fan and a football and basketball coach for PMYC for many years. He was also an avid sportsman competing in Field Trials with his award-winning English Setters. In addition, he enjoyed pheasant hunting and fishing for trout using homemade hand-tied flies.
Upon retirement, Lou immensely enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Louis Jr., Anthony and Christopher.
Four Grandchildren, Kaitlin Snyder, Kyle Brignola husband of Laiane, Ashley Dietz, Emily Stinson wife of Andrew.
Five Great-grandchildren, Edgardo, Gianni, Izayis, Braxton, McKenna.
Brothers, Dominic Brignola, Jr. husband of Karen, Kenneth, and Gary engaged to Regina Walsh.
Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, A. Michael.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 1261 Filmore Street, Phoenixville, PA.
A visitation will be held in the church on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lou’s name to Saint Basil the Great Parish, 2330 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA.
