Wilfred Lawrence "Larry" Mattis, Jr., 78, husband of the late Karen A. (Deane) Mattis of Phoenixville, PA died suddenly on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
Born on August 25, 1942 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late Wilfred L. Mattis, Sr. and Laura (Wadsworth) Mattis.
He worked as a Security Guard in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
He served in the US Army in Vietnam.
Larry could always be seen in Phoenixville taking pictures at Firebird Festival, Blob Fest, Dogwood Festival, WuFFJam, and any other event going on in town. He also was a member of the High Bridge Club and could be seen taking pictures of sunsets. He started the Facebook page "You have a friend in Phoenixville" which he loved being part of.
He is survived by 3 children:
Son, Wilfred Lawrence Mattis, III and wife Becky;
Son, Michael William Mattis;
Daughter, Lisa Marie Moser.
6 Grandchildren, Eleanor Laura Mattis, Cody Miller, Elliot Mattis, Ashley Nicole Mattis, Madasyn Faye Mattis, and Zoie Elizabeth Fryer.
1 Great-grandson, Connor Miller.
Family and friends may call at the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Interment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
