Kathleen Steube

The world has lost one of its most selfless, kindest, stoic, and caring souls when Kathleen Theresa Steube passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her home in Mont Clare, PA.  She was 85.  Born in Phoenixville, PA on September 30, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Carl and Katherine (McCabe) Katein.  She was married to the late Edgar Ellis Steube, Jr.  Survived by her children; James Steube, husband of Libby Miller; Maribeth, wife of Christopher Theirs; Karen Harbison, Joseph Steube, husband of Renee; and Keith Steube.  In addition to her children, she is survived by grandchildren Colleen Steube, the late Ashleigh Steube, Zachary Steube and his wife, Hailey, and great grandchildren, Avery, Colton, and Ronan.  Also, her sisters Margaret Schell, widow of the late John "Jack" Schell and Helen Marie, widow of the late Anthony Tornetta.  She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

All Kathleen ever wanted was for her kids to be safe, happy and to feel loved.  She dedicated her life to them and to anyone she met.  Kathleen always acknowledged others.  If you were hungry - or not - she would feed you.  She gave water to the mailman, trash men, and anyone she thought might be thirsty.  If you told her you were stopping by in a half hour, she'd have a table filled with food and the pot of coffee brewing.  She never let anyone suffer.  If you were sick or injured, she would care for you.  If you were lonely, she'd visit with you.  If you needed shelter, she took you in.  She never asked for anything in return.  We know Kathleen will continue to touch others and make lives better through the rest of time through all she taught and gave to so many.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.

A viewing will be held in the church on Thursday from 9:00 am to 9:45 am.
