Katherine C. Wood

Katherine C. (Butterfield) Wood, 83, wife of William C. Wood of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 in Paoli Hospital surrounded by family.

Born on June 6, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen (Hennessey) Butterfield.

As a child Katherine attended St. Mary’s School and grew up on the Northside of Phoenixville.  She graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School, Class of 1959.

She was a member of St. Basil the Great Parish in Kimberton.  Katherine taught Sunday School at St. Basil’s for a number of years as a long time parishioner.

For most of Katherine’s career she worked at Sid Harvey’s in King of Prussia and then Pearless Paper in Oaks, PA.

She loved spending time with her grandkids, family and friends.  She was an avid Philly sports fan, and enjoyed traveling especially to the casinos.

In addition to her husband of 57 years she is survived by 3 children:
Kathy wife of John Bielawski;
Helen Wood and her companion the late Edwin Hartman;
William husband of Julie Wood.

5 Grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole, William, Andrew, and Kyle.

Brothers, John Thomas Butterfield and Joseph Butterfield and sister, Mary Pat Roper.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, Robert, and Henry Butterfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass held at St. Basil the Great Parish, 2330 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, September 8, 2023  at 11:00 am.

A viewing will be held prior in the church on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
