Joseph E. O'Neill, 92, husband of the late Josephine (Cutillo) O'Neill of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 peacefully with his two daughters by his side.
Born and raised in Phoenixville, PA on the Northside "Tunnel Hill" on April 11, 1928 he was the son of the late Aloysius and Catherine (McCabe) O'Neill.
Joe served in the Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Lang in the South Pacific.
He worked at Phoenix Steel in the open hearth and pipe mill for 42 years and was a Master Electrician until its closing. His passion was driving, he drove for Norco Jeep and Fred Beans. He drove across the country three times with his last stop at Las Vegas.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, VFW Post 1564, American Legion Post 482, Friendship Fire Company, Polish Club, K - Bar Club, Pool League at Valley Forge Fire Company. Joe played semi-pro football for the Phoenixville Moose and was an avid poker player. He was a huge Eagles Fan and season ticket holder for many years and attended three Super Bowls. Joe's favorite car was a Buick.
He is survived by 2 daughters:
Colleen O'Neill Stephens wife of the late Bruce "Buzz" Stephens;
Kathleen O'Neill.
Grandson, Joseph A. Stephens.
He was devoted family man and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by sister, Agnes (O'Neill) Taglieber.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Ann Chapel, 602 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
A viewing will be held in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
