Joseph D. Kane, 84, husband of the late Dorothy E. (Bednarczyk) Kane of Dagsboro, DE died on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Seasons Hospice.
Born on May 24, 1935 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late John, Sr. and Doris (Piersol) Kane
He received his Bachelor and Masters degrees from Villanova University..
He was a Civil Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers in Philadelphia and then the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Bethesda, MD.
He was a member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Kimberton and St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, where he belonged to the Men's Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2323 in Derwood, MD.
He was a CCD Teacher and Boy's Basketball Coach at Catholic Schools in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in a men's golf league in Dagsboro.
He is survived by a daughter, Darlene Kane; Son, Daniel husband of Kimberly Kane; Son-in-law, Kenneth Fearon; Daughter-in-law, Lisa Kane;7 Grandchildren: Kelly Fearon, Megan Fearon, Emily Kane, Nathan Kane, Jack Kane, Maya Kane, and Haley Kane; Brothers and sisters:
James husband of Mary Kane, Joan Kane, Kathy wife of Michael Vasko, Jr., Sr. Doris Kane, IHM, and Patricia Burruano.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Janette Fearon, son, Joseph Kane, Jr., brother, Jack Kane, and sister, Sr. Janie Kane, IHM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10:30 am.
Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A viewing will be held in Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and in the church on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 am.
