John P. “JP” Jermacans, 81, husband of Charlotte M. (Demko), of Collegeville, PA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, after being admitted to the Emergency Room of Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital.Born on June 5, 1943, in Baltinava, Latvia, he was the son of the late Janis and Olga (Norvilis) Jermacans. As a very young child, he relocated to the United States with his parents and two of his brothers. Phoenixville became his hometown, and he graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1962. He met his future wife, Charlotte, of Honeybrook, PA, while on a blind date with her in 1960, and they later wed in 1964 at Sacred Heart Church in Phoenixville. He made his career as a talented self-employed carpenter while enjoying spending time with his wife and two sons, hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, storytelling, and perfecting his bowling, golf and pool playing in his free time. He semi- retired in 1998 until which time he joined his oldest son’s business, Jermacans Style, Inc., to work in the construction division until his final retirement in the winter of 2019. From then on, his greatest pleasure was spending quality time with his wife, taking day trips to visit family, trying his luck at the slots of various nearby casinos, and watching sports and great old movies in the comfort of their cozy home on Arcola Road.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, John B., husband of Susan (Licursi), Jermacans, and Anthony Jermacans. His seven surviving grandchildren are: Jessica, Austin, Autumn, Jarred, Erica, Nicholas and Michael. His two surviving brothers are: Gus, husband of Kathy (Raggazino), Jermacans, and Val, husband of Penny (Trout), Jermacans.He was preceded in death by his parents Janis and Olga (Norvislis) Jermacans, brothers Ed and Albert Jermacans, and grandson, Jordan Jermacans.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Memorial Service in the Devlin – Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main St., Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 1:00pm. Prior to the service, there a Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00pm.In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for contributions made in his name to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104.
