John Robert "Bob" Gear, age 76, of Orlando, FL, and formerly of Grand Junction, CO, passed away on April 27, 2017 with his loving wife Connie at his side.
Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Sudzina) Gear.
Bob was a graduate of Phoenixville High School where he played baseball and football. He got the nickname "Bubble Gum Gear" at the very early stages of baseball in Phoenixville Little League, the name stuck with him all thru High School and Babe Ruth League. Bob loved coaching sports and working with our youth.
He attended, four colleges culminating in a Masters degree from Western State College, in Gunnison, CO. While attending Mesa Junior College, he was a Junior College Football All American, and he also pitched in the first Junior College World Series held in Grand Junction, CO.
He served in the United States Marine Corps, and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
He taught at Grand Junction High School, Grand Junction, CO for 32 years. While at Grand Junction High School, he coached football, baseball and golf.

A Memorial Diving Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Amelia & Landis Streets, Mont Clare, PA, on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 am.
