Jean Reifsnyder

April 24, 1932 — November 29, 2021

Jean J. (Galloni) Reifsnyder, 89, of Phoenixville, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, John R. “Jack” Reifsnyder three months ago.

Born in Framingham, MA on April 24, 1932, she was the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Salvatore and Mary (Desiderio) Galloni. Jean graduated from St. Mary's Parochial School in Phoenixville, then matriculated at St. Patrick's Parish High School in Norristown, graduating in 1950. On June 27, 1953, she married the love of her life, Jack.

Jean’s working career was primarily in the banking field in the Phoenixville area. Beginning as a cashier at the bank at the Valley Forge Army Hospital, she then went on to become a teller at Industrial Valley Bank. She retired from The West Company as an Accounting Assistant.

Jean was an active member of the St. Basil the Great Parish in Kimberton for many years where she was a member of the Golden Greats and Women’s Club volunteering in various bazaars and fund raisers. For more than ten years Jean was one of the principal counters of the Offertory receipts for the parish.

For pleasure, Jean enjoyed participating in an active and friendly pinochle group with her girlfriends. “Lucky” Jean loved the casino and made frequent trips to local casinos and to Las Vegas with Jack. Jean took time to maintain her heritage by taking lessons in speaking Italian.

Most of all, Jean loved spending time with her family. Jean was known for her meatballs! Sundays were always dinner at Nana and Grandy’s house. Many people have eaten at their kitchen table. A sports enthusiast, like her husband, Jean was active in following the sport exploits of her daughters and grandchildren. Jean and her husband, Jack, traveled near and far to cheer-on their family.

Jean is survived by her two daughters:  Sharon, wife of Eugene Kraynak; Shirleen, wife of Scott Smiley; six grandchildren:  Matthew, Nicholas, Alyssa, Zachary, Chad, and Jason; six great grandchildren; a sister Eileen, wife of Eugene Fogarty; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Eva, wife of the late Honorable James DiGiuseppi.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 9:15 to 10:15am.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am with Rev.
