Jane D. Vekony, 86, wife of the late Robert J. Vekony of Valley Forge, PA passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
Born on February 5, 1934 in Ottawa, IL, she was the daughter of the late Brinton and Maudie (McPhillips) Donalson.
She received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Arizona. She enjoyed teaching for many years and taught at a variety of grade levels. Jane was an instructor at the Valley Forge Military Academy for several years.
After graduating from college, Jane stayed in Arizona to teach and was introduced to her husband at a dinner party. They moved to Pennsylvania and were married in Sewickley. They later moved to Valley Forge where they lived for nearly 40 years. During their retirement, they moved to Arizona to get away from the cold Winters. A few years ago, they returned to PA.
Jane loved reading and shared a love of poetry with her father. She enjoyed the retelling of funny stories and bringing laughter to those around her. Her memories and love of growing up in her hometown brought her happiness throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Vekony,
Niece, Amy (Donalson) Bowden and Nephews, Brinton and Brian Donalson.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Brinton Donalson.
