James A. Frizzell, 98, husband of Anna (Omelko) Frizzell of Kimberton passed away on Friday evening, July 26, 2019 in his home.
He was born on October 11, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Ervin J. and Mary Jane (Cloney) Frizzell.
He attended St. Ann Catholic School and served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific.
Jim was a devout member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church.
Jim was a humble and talented self-taught artist, a beekeeper and winemaker. He was also a skilled calligrapher. He was the family historian and genealogist who published several editions of the Frizzell and Omelko family story.
He enjoyed playing guitar and in the 1940’s he was a member of the Pickering Valley Ramblers. He passed along his love of music to each of his children. Frequently he would spend hours singing old-time favorite songs with his family. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.
He was a gentle man whose laughter and kindness will be missed by all.
In addition to his wife of 73 years, he is survived by 7 children: Rose Ann wife of Wilvon West, Mary Jane wife of John Kelly, James E. Frizzell, Anastasia L. wife of David Augusto, Timothy B. husband of Louise Frizzell, Tom husband of Roberta Frizzell, and Paul H. husband of Linda Frizzell; 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; brother, Thomas F. husband of Kathleen Frizzell, and sister, Nancy Leber.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Virginia Detwiler and Marie Yiaski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
