Harry E. Van Horn, Sr., 79, husband of the late Kathryn E. Van Horn of Spring City, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at his shore home in Millsboro, DE.
Born on August 10, 1942 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Myers) Van Horn Plavcan.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was the Police Chief for Royersford from 1970 until he retired in 2000 and then worked for the Sheriff's Department at Montgomery County Courthouse for over 15 years.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Royersford F & AM #585, and was past President of Montgomery County Police Chief's Association.
He is survived by his daughter, JoAnne Lynn wife of Matthew O'Hara;
2 Grandchildren, Michael Coulter and Brooke Lynn Van Horn;
2 Great-grandchildren, Landon and Grayson.
Daughter-in-law, Patricia Van Horn;
Brother, Ronald W. and wife Barbara Van Horn.
He was preceded in death by his son, Harry E. Van Horn, Jr. and 2 brothers, Ralph Van Horn and Robert Van Horn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in Green Tree Cemetery.
A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
