Gordon L. McCaleb, 86, husband of Jacqueline (Feeser) McCaleb of Phoenixville, PA, died suddenly after being stricken at church on Sunday morning, July 16, 2017.
Born on June 22, 1931, he was a son of the late Frank and Evie (Ray) McCaleb.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Gordon worked at the former Valley Forge General Hospital from 1961 to 1973 and then the Coatesville VA Hospital, retiring in 1986.
After retirement he has been working part time at the University of Valley Forge until his death.
He was a member of Grace Crossing Community Church and was an active member of F&AM Phoenix Lodge No.75 in Phoenixville, where he was Past Worshipful Master.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by:
daughter, Rosemary wife of David Ray of Conroe, TX,
son, Gordon McCaleb, Jr. of Charleston, SC,
daughter, Theresa McCaleb of Phoenixville, PA,
3 Grandchildren: Michele, Colin, and Tess,
3 Step-grandsons,
5 Step- great grandchildren,
sister, Frances Wilke of Illinois
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Ashley McCaleb; brothers, Corbett and William; sister, Nellie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service from the Grace Crossing Community Church, 248 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories.
A viewing will be held in the church on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
