George Michael "Mike" Burnley, 86, husband of Margaret "Peggy" A. (Quay) Burnley of Chester Springs, PA died on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at home.
Born on October 27, 1932 in Springfield, Delaware County, PA he was the son of the late George M. and Dorothy (Hayden) Burnley.
Mike was a 1950 graduate of Spring City High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He worked as a Lab Technician for Sun Oil Company in Marcus Hook, PA for 37 years.
He served in local government in many capacities which included Chairman of West Vincent Township Board of Supervisors for 18 years.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chester Springs, PA and the Phoenixville Jaycees.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 64 years are 2 sons:
Kerry husband of Denise Burnley;
Jeffrey husband of Lori Burnley.
3 Grandchildren:
Ryan husband of Alison Burnley;
Eric husband of Melissa Burnley;
Adam husband of Katie Burnley.
2 Great-granddaughters:
Blake and Emery.
Sister, Patricia wife of Larry Gray and brother, Terry Burnley and Diane.
He was preceded in death by sister, Lynn Burnley and brothers, Jack and Richard Burnley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1239 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, PA on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
There will be no viewing prior to the service.
