Gary N. Hurter, 83, beloved husband of Patricia (Dolny) Hurter passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 in Pottstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on November 6, 1941 in Pottstown, PA he was the son of the late Ernest and Catherine (Kepner) Hurter.

Gary was a Pottstown High School Graduate and attended Bloomsburg College.

Gary worked as a Manager for Birdsboro Steel and Empire Steel. Gary was an avid sports fan his whole life, a passion he passed down to his daughters and grandchildren. He was an Eagles season ticket holder for over 40 years. He would never miss an Eagles or Phillies game. This passion also led him to coaching football and baseball for The Norchester Red Knights and Junior legion teams that he enjoyed for many years along with being an umpire for the local schools. Sports were a big part of his life. He also worked as a school bus driver upon his retirement.

Gary loved being around his family and was so involved in his children and grandchildren's lives and loved attending all their activities. He was so loved and will be greatly missed.

Gary is survived along with his wife of 42 years his 2 daughters, Terri wife of James Hutchinson, Kim wife of Russell Davis, and daughter-in-law, Deirdre Elvin.

7 Grandchildren, Katelyn Hutchinson, Kelsey Hutchinson, Kyla Hutchinson, Quinn husband of Sydney Davis, Madison Davis, and Ryan and Jake Elvin.

Great-granddaughter, Elliotte Davis.

Sister, Sally wife of Stephen Ditlow.

Niece, Sabrina wife of Chris Czyzewski.

He was preceded in death by his step-son, Scott Elvin.

Burial will be private at the request of the family.
