Francine R. Layne, 59, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Born on September 21, 1963 in Phoenixville, PA she was the daughter of the late Alonzo E. and Ruth M. (Nelligan) Layne.
She graduated in June of 1985 from Chester County Intermediate Unit Learning Center.
Francine was an avid gymnast who participated in the Special Olympics. She traveled to New Orleans for the Special Olympics and met Julius Erving. Francine enjoyed her time camping at the Blue Rocks Family Campground in Lenhartsville, PA. She loved spending her time with animals, and was always surrounded by her furry friends. She was a passionate viewer of the WWF, with an admiration for Hulk Hogan. Francine often attended her nieces and nephews sporting events. She was always the life of the party and would always dance like no one was watching. Francine loved music, particularly Elvis Presley. She could be found entertaining anyone with games, and was known to be a fierce opponent in beer pong. Francine had sticky fingers and would steal anything she got her hands on, making her subject to frequent pat downs which often humored her family and friends. She was loved and adored by many, a gift to anyone who had the opportunity to know her.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters:
Michael R. Layne;
Deah R. wife of Russ Treas;
Patrick J. Layne;
Lisa M. Diaz-Galloway.
13 Nieces and nephews, Mikey, Michelle, Paul, Matthew, Alex, Amanda, Tiffany, Sean, Megan, Patrick, Sydney, Travis, and Cameron and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her niece Nicole Layne.
Francine’s celebration of life will be announced at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Francine’s name to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
