Evelyn Vera Lear

Evelyn Vera "Dolly" (Hill) Lear, 91, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2024.  She was the wife of the late Edward A. Lear of Phoenixville, PA.

Evelyn was born on October 1, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to the late Dock and Sophie (Washington) Hill.  Her family moved to Phoenixville, PA when she was very young.  She attended Phoenixville schools.

She was a dedicated worker at Dettra Flags in Oaks, PA for over 20 years before retiring from there.

After retiring Evelyn took care of her grandchildren.  She and Edward were regulars at Frank's Italian Delite Pizzaria in Phoenixville where they enjoyed spending time with them and treating them to lunch.

Evelyn was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church in Pottstown, PA for many years.  She loved and was loved by her church family.  Even when she wasn't able to attend service any longer she always asked how her church family was doing.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Lear, and siblings, Hazel, Dock Jr., Charles, and Rosetta.

Evelyn is survived by her four children, Joe Hill of Spring City, PA, Donald Hill of Brookhaven, PA, Allen Lear of Reading, PA, and Grace Lear of Reading, PA.  Her 10 grandchildren, Angie, and Derek, Jack, and Eris, Brittany, Natasha, Crystal, Danielle, Keilah and Nina and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers, Willie Hill of Las Vegas, NV and Joe Hill of Norristown, PA.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
