Eva Lee Bearden

Eva Lee Bearden, 95 yrs old went home to be with the LORD on Dec 31st, 2022.

She was born on Sept 1,1927 in Southern Pines, NC to the late Alex and Betty Jane Martin.

She was the third of five sisters, Lucille, Pearl, Carrie, and Mary Jane. She attended primary and secondary schools in Southern Pines. After graduating she relocated to Pennsylvania. She was joined in marriage to Frank Bearden Sr. on December 22, 1950. Through this union they had seven children. Larry F. Bearden, Diane L Johnson (deceased), Dory Bearden, Vicki L. Bearden, Jane E. Bearden, Franceska V. Bearden (deceased), and Frank Bearden Jr.

Eva retired from Pennsylvania state hospital after 25 years of service. Following her retirement, she was a volunteer at the Sacred Heart Hospital of Norristown. She was also involved in the foster grandparent program sponsored by RSVP.

Eva was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Phoenixville for over 35 years serving in various ministries, including pastor aide, flower club, and missionaries. She also sang in the senior choir. She joined Siloam Baptist church of Norristown in 1999 and was active in the visitation ministry, prayer ministry and attended Bible study and Sunday School. Eva was the family's matriarch. She found great joy in spending time with her children, and grandchildren. Her great grandchildren lovingly called her “GG”. Her hobbies were crocheting and shopping at her favorite thrift stores, her favorite hobby was baking. She was known for her delicious nut rolls, sweet potato pies, and pound cakes. Eva always had an uplifting word for whoever she encountered; she was a prayer warrior and would take time to pray for anyone in need.

Eva leaves to cherish; Children: Larry F. Bearden and wife Mirielle, Diane L. Johnson (deceased), Dory V. Bearden, Vicki L. Bearden, Jane E. Bearden, Franceska V. Bearden (deceased), and Frank Bearden Jr. Grandchildren; Leslie Johnson Jr, and wife Thomasina, Taryn F. King, and husband Dallas, Preston S. Johnson (deceased), Derrick E. Edwards Jr., Renee N.C. Youngblood and husband Lamont, Shawna L. Bearden, Janine A. Owens, Leah C. Murphy and husband Camron, Danielle Carlos and husband Joel, Desiree L. Owens, Franciska D. Bearden, Andre E. Bearden. 13 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in Siloam Baptist Church, 1329 Willow Street, Norristown, PA 19401 on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery.

A visitation will be held in church on Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 am.
