Eugene R. "Gino" Jowder

Eugene R. "Gino" Jowder, 81, of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Paoli Hospital.

 Born on August 25, 1941 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late John P. Jowder, Sr. and Elizabeth (Tirpak) Jowder.

 He graduated from Phoenixville High School and then went on to serve in the United States Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War.

 He worked as a custodian for Phoenixville Area School District before retiring.  Although he did not drive, he always made his way around town.

 He was a life member of the VFW Post 1564, West End Fire Company, Friendship Fire Company, Polish Club, Slovak Club, Moose Lodge, in Phoenixville, PA and American Legion Post 462 in Spring City.

Gino was an avid college football fan and especially loved Notre Dame.  For many years, he enjoyed taking the local bus excursions to see games with his legion of friends.  He also never missed a Phillies or Eagles game on TV.  All who socialized with him knew he had a “wit like no other".

He is survived by his youngest brother, Albert Jowder, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, especially Dalton who took great care of him in his later years.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Jowder, Jr., Robert Jowder, Thomas Jowder, and Andrew Jowder.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Graveside Service in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 1261 Fillmore Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 am.

A visitation will be held in Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday from 9:00 to 10:30 am.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Gino may be made to your favorite charity.
