Ernest Whitehead, 92, of Kimberton, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Guzzi) Whitehead.
Ernest was born on November 15, 1923 in Elizabeth City, NC. He was the son of the late William P. and Sibbi (Banks) Whitehead.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister,

Albert Lee Whitehead,
and Anna Mae Beasley.
He is survived by one son and two daughters,

eight grandchildren,

Beth Lynn Stoeckl wife of Jason,
Joseph Esposito husband of Jeanne,
Carl J. Esposito husband of Karen,

Ernest had a zest for life, love of his Family, enjoyed his gardening, cooking and fishing, and was an avid Phillies fan who never missed a game on TV.
As a young man of 16, he served with the United States Seabees. He traveled across the United States with the Seabees, they had a history of building bases, bulldozing and paving thousands of miles of roadway and airstrips.
Ernest joined the United States Navy during World War II, and became a ships cook, which was his passion!
He retired in 1983 after 41 years with the B.F. Goodrich Company in Oaks, PA.
The funeral will be private for the convenience of the family.
