Emily L. (Quicker) McFarlane Born December 8, 1927 - Died August 24, 2023
Emily L. (Quicker) McFarlane, 95, of Phoenixville passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
Emily was famous for her fabulous potato salad, witty sense of humor, and being a superb mother. (If everyone had a mother like Emily, there would be peace on Earth.) But the pinnacle of her fame is her capacity to love, born of her unwavering faith in God.
After raising four children Emily began a new journey to fulfill her second vocation as the Director of Religious Education at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church. For 15 years she guided, counseled, and supported countless others as they developed closer relationships with God. And when she became ill with a debilitating illness, it was her faith that allowed her to remain accepting and cheerful despite tremendous pain.
Emily will be missed by Joseph, her devoted husband of 76 years, children Dennis, Timothy, and Jeffrey McFarlane, and Mary (McFarlane) Richards, sisters and brothers, Connie (Quicker) and Phillip Collura, and Jim and Agnes McFarlane, adopted daughters Beth Deyo, Lisa Farrell, and Angela Midgley, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 20 nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Among those to greet her in Heaven are her parents, Hilda and Andrew, brothers Edward, Bill, Andy, and Michael, her sister Patti, and five grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Ann Chapel, 602 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Daniel Arechabala officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
A viewing will be held in the chapel on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Food for the Poor at (link is given below) or any charity of your choice.
