Elizabeth Lee (Catt) Hunsberger, 87, of Douglassville, PA died August 14, 2018.
The widow of William Carl Hunsberger, she was born in Spring City, PA, the daughter of the late Elizabeth Ann (Valko) and the late George M. Catt.
A graduate of Spring City High School, class of 1949, Betty, as she was known, was a proud member of the Delaware Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She was employed as a chief guardian officer at the former Pennhurst State School until her retirement. Following her retirement she moved to Dagsboro, DE where she was active with the Delaware Marine Archeological Society, AARP, and the Democrat Party of Delaware, as well as the DAR.
She was an inveterate lover of books, and enjoyed a lifelong interest in genealogy, reading, and her precious dogs.
In her younger years she was a member of the "Melody Maids," a 24-woman choral group that performed in clubs and social events in the Pottstown area for a number of years. Prior to her move to Delaware, she also raised a few litters of standard poodles, participated in match shows, and enjoyed attending dog shows.
She is survived by three children: Carl Grant (Bambi) Hunsberger, Leslie Sue (Alan) Peppelman, and Eric Kendal Hunsberger, all of Pottstown; a sister Joan Ann (Theodore) Hawkins of Douglassville and a brother, G. Gary Catt of Honeoye, NY as will as five nieces and nephews. Also survived by her dog "Diva".
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Kindred Hospice Foundation, 3350 Riverwood Parkway, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30339.
