Elizabeth A. (Walsh) Balogh, 89, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Royersford, PA. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael N. Balogh, Sr. of Phoenixville and loving mother of Michael N. and wife Mary Beth (Polen) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Thomas F. and wife Nancy (Labik) of Phoenixville, David S., of Aurora, CO, MariBeth Duffy and husband Brian of Collegeville, and Teresa Reed, widow of Dane Reed of Collegeville. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Barbara E., wife of Richard Whittemore, Exton
She was a devoted grandmother to Amy Pastor (Vince) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Stephen Balogh, Aurora, Co, Lauren Apsokardu (Matthew), Honey Brook, PA, Megan E. and Brian T. Duffy both of Collegeville. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Fitzcharles who eased her passing with gentle words and reminiscences of their childhood. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas, James, and David Walsh
Libby, as she was known to family and friends was born in Ardmore on December 31, 1926 to Thomas and Margaret (Kelly) Walsh. She was a 1942 graduate of Tredyffrin-Easttown High School. She was employed as a secretary at the Valley Forge Army Hospital until she landed her most rewarding job as full-time, at-home mother. She was a 30 year care giver to her husband after he suffered a massive stroke at age 57.
She was a member of St. Ann Parish, Phoenixville, then St. Basil the Great Parish, Kimberton. Libby loved roller skating with her husband for more than 30 years, was a talented organist, and enjoyed reading, hooking rugs, and crochet.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA, on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 10:30 AM.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA.
A viewing will be held in the church from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM.
