Edward Thomas Murphy

Edward T. Murphy, 57, of Mont Clare, PA husband of Sandra A. "Sandy" Murphy passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022.

Born on May 3, 1965 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of Edward T. "Buzz" Murphy, Jr. and the late Kathleen M. "Kassy" (Dzuryachko) Murphy.

In addition to his wife and father he is survived by 2 children:

Son, Kelly E. Murphy;

Daughter, Kassidy M. Murphy.

Brothers, Christopher and John.

And his loving cousins, niece, nephew, and family.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine "Katie" Murphy.

After a long arduous battle of stage four pancreatic cancer, Ed peacefully passed away in his sleep at home surrounded by his beloved family.  Ed was an enigma when it came to this disease.  The strength and grace he showed throughout these years was a true testament of his purpose.  To show us all that no matter what life throws at you, you have the strength inside to get up and keep moving.  The cancer did not define him.

Edward was the proud owner of Murphy Electrical Contracting for 22 years.  Anyone who knew Ed, knew that his trade and his business were some of the woven pieces of fiber that made him who he is.  He loved to teach all that he knew.  He was a true leader.

He was a lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church.  Ed served as Supervisor for Upper Providence Township for six years and a Planning Commission member prior.  Ed was passionate about saving open space for his community, he wanted to preserve the esthetics and beauty of Upper Providence Township for years to come.

His children were the most important gifts he was ever given.  He loved spending time with them in Cape May, his happy place, Bahamas, New York City and so on.  He loved every aspect of their lives watching them grow into the people he couldn’t be prouder of.  He was a true provider for his children and family.

Ed loved spending time with his cousins and family.  He loved to be surrounded by the people who loved him.

He was a man of strength, kindness, love, acceptance, and a friend that you would want by your side.  He will be forever in our hearts, and he will be forever loved.
