Dorothy A. Griffith, 84, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at home.

Born on September 1, 1932, in Phoenixville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Mabel (Birmingham) Griffith.

Dorothy was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, and a graduate of Ursinus College. She then received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Drexel University.

She worked for the Montgomery County Library system in Norristown as a Librarian for over 40 years.

She was a member and former Treasurer of the East Pikeland Historical Society.

She was an accomplished pianist, lover of animals, appreciated classical music and was a supporter of the Forge Theatre in Phoenixville.

She is survived by 3 nephews,
Thomas husband of Myra Grzywacz of Honey Brook, PA,
Thomas F. Rogers, Jr. of Coatesville, PA,
David husband of Michele Grzywacz of Phoenixville, PA.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Rogers and Frances Grzywacz.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow in Brownback's Cemetery, Spring City, PA.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Chester County SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
