Allan Bruce "Pinky" Pinkerton

Allan B. “Pinky” Pinkerton, 81, husband of the late Judy (Moore) Pinkerton of Glenmoore, PA passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, surrounded by his family in Paoli Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born on April 12, 1942, in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Reuben and Frances (Willard) Pinkerton.

Allan lived and worked in Chester County his entire life until Uncle Sam called him to serve his country. He served aboard the Navy Destroyer USS Vesole, DD/DDR-878 during the Vietnam Conflict. After completing his tour of duty with the United States Navy and Naval Reserves, he worked in a variety of jobs ultimately retiring from Johnson Matthey after 25 years of service at the age of 70.

He was a past member of the East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Association serving as an Engineer. His pride of serving his community in the fire service was passed onto his son Gary and grandson Daniel who are members of EWVFA.

He was devoted to his family and dogs and enjoyed watching Philly sports and NASCAR. Allan would offer anyone who stopped by a cup of coffee as well as engaging them in a lively discussion of the impact of the internet on today’s youth, politics, and the weather or join him in watching old Western’s including Bonanza and The Rifleman.

He is survived by his son, Gary, husband of Kathy Sheridan.                                      

3 Grandsons, Brian Sheridan and Christine Neville, Daniel Sheridan and his fiancée Courtney Coppock, and Kyle Sheridan.                                                                                                                           

1 Great-granddaughter, Riley as well as his beloved dog, Rosie.

He was preceded in death by his brother Gerald (Jerry) and is survived by his Sister-in Law Shirley Pinkerton and sister Carol Ann, wife of Dennis Denty.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation which will be held at Devlin-Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday July 28, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

 A Graveside Service will follow at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA 19355 at 11:30 am.
