Alfred P. Burk (aka Pop Pop and known to some as Spud), 88, husband of Marilyn (Rabe) Burk of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at home.
Born on September 10, 1934 in New York, NY he was the son of the late Alfred Burk and Marion (Stark) Kelsey.
Alfred served in the United States Navy as a communications ensign on a submarine during the Korean War era. He was employed as a Project Manager for Burroughs/Unisys for 42 years.
He was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chester Springs where he served as Council President, finance administrator, Lector, Bell Choir member and absolutely loved singing in the choir. He was also a member of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) and enjoyed "defensive driving" at Watkins Glen, Pocono, Shenandoah and many other race courses.
While Alfred worked, he lived in England, Hong Kong, and Singapore and after retirement continued to travel and was fully devoted to his Church.
In addition to his wife of 68 years he is survived by 3 children:
Son, Donald Burk;
Son, Russell husband of Barbara Burk;
Daughter, Karen wife of Joseph Cannizzaro Jr.
Grandchildren, Rebecca wife of Jarrod Kolb and Kevin Burk.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Burk.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1239 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425 on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 1:30 pm.
